Just Home In the Mountains is a dramatic project that’s being spearheaded by Homeward Bound of Asheville. The idea is to create an on-going, ever evolving play about the issues of homelessness here in the area by dramatizing real stories from people of all walks of life who live here. The play had a write up in the Citizen-Times [link is to a google cache page] about a month ago, but now the project has its own website http://www.justhome.org. The website is pretty barebones at the moment, but does include a link to the project’s brochure as a pdf file.
From the brochure:
Homeward Bound of Asheville is excited to bring the award winning team of Community Performance Inc. (CPI) to Asheville to lead Just Home in the Mountains. Featuring stories gathered from the Asheville community, the CPI team will guide local residents in the creation of an original community performance. The play, which will feature local community members from all walks of life, will be performed twice a year, incorporating new stories and songs on an annual basis. Just Home in The Mountains is a living and growing work of art of, by, and for the Asheville community.
