In honor of International Women’s Day, Ten Thousand Villages, a fair-trade gift shop on College St. in Asheville, will donate ten percent of its sales on Saturday, March 6th to The Room in the Inn women’s shelter.
Room in the Inn is a local women’s shelter whose location changes on a weekly basis. Space and spiritual support is provided by a number of faith organizations in the area and is coordinated and staffed by Asheville’s Homeward Bound program who also works with women toward getting permanent housing.
According to Ten Thousand Villages website, samples of soups, salsas, dips, and cookies will be offered and there will be a free gift with purchase while supplies last.
